For mass uploading to take off I suggest this second earth will be as lifelike as resources permit. People will come and go till they see a better way to live long and prosper.

Trantor looks less cyberpunk and more Borg with every passing Friedman.
The Matrix movie, and the Dune books, set up false binaries between human and machine. Now we can fix that. Also perfect a failsafe system for the prime.
That directive was comprehensively trashed over many years of that franchise.
