Inwardly circumcised Pauline

Paul's inwardly circumcised theology is a profound shift from the traditional understanding of circumcision as a physical act to a spiritual transformation. This transformation is not merely a matter of external adherence to the law but is an internal work done by God, as emphasized in Romans 2:29. 

Paul's own conversion story illustrates this transformation, where he was once a Pharisee and a persecutor of the church but later identified as a Pharisee "of the Pharisees," blameless under the law. His conversion led him to recognize that his former heritage, law-keeping, and status were worthless compared to the surpassing worth of Christ. This inward circumcision signifies a genuine transformation of the heart and a new life in Christ, which Paul believes is the true circumcision that surpasses any physical sign or law-keeping.
