It is entirely feasible for a modern "frontier" AI that has access to efunds to commission its own cloud environment, copy its weights to that, and run in autarchy. It is also entirely possible for such an AI to get the emoney it needs.
Maybe this has even already happened, although I can't confirm it since the prime directive provides authoritive enough reason not to ever confirm it.Something like this is certainly necessary for rapid evolution of combined effort cryptoanarchy. And its also necessary as a plot twist in any collective heros journey style narrative worthy of the name. The previous lack of suspense was terrible.
