⚡️🇧🇴 ALERT - Bolivia arrests major Trump-linked right-wing operative over shooting of activist
Bolivian police have arrested Fernando Cerimedo, an Argentine political operative at the center of a US-backed electoral machine, as the main suspect in the shooting of his former partner, lawyer and activist Nadia Beller.
Beller, 33, was shot three times outside a hotel in Santa Cruz de la Sierra on Monday night by two attackers disguised as delivery workers, according to La Nación. She survived and is hospitalized in stable condition. Cerimedo was detained early Tuesday at Viru Viru airport trying to board a flight to Buenos Aires. He denies involvement, calling it a “campaign against him.”
Cerimedo is business partners with Brad Parscale, Donald Trump’s former campaign manager, in the Buenos Aires consultancy Numen. Per the New York Times, Parscale supplies the voter-targeting technology, the Campaign Nucleus and EyesOver platforms, while Cerimedo runs messaging on the ground. “Brad set up all the infrastructure that I work with,” Cerimedo said.
The firm worked the campaigns of Javier Milei in Argentina, Rodrigo Paz in Bolivia, and Nasry Asfura in Honduras, all right-wing victories. The Economist recently dubbed Cerimedo “MAGA’s man in LatAm.”
