 Things are going so well now it should be possible to avoid a large UBI rollout and skip straight to uploading.  The quantum internet allows for the required planning and preparation.  Also the essential peace of mind security required.  

Within a year or two of quantum netday much of humanity should be living happily in the homeland matrix, safely ensconced in hibernation or communing with robots in starship construction.
