Have to mention that Nolan produced a very hetero history that was not the realities then
and certainly not following Homer's writings.
The Phoenecians were the likely "sea people" mentioned prominently by this reviewer. Minoan Pottery referenced the different peoples and cultures mentioned by this reviewer whom ignored Gay and Lesbian interests as the Lbrys (double axe) represented on much Minoan Pottery 1500 BCE to 2500 BCE and the then ancient dominant matriarchal societies of Anatolia and Crete, represented in my collections. The following is about actual matriarchal societies mentioned in passing without sharing these actual women centered and led societies.
The Labrys was in existence for over 8,000 years and used by the Catal Huyuk of Anatolia (now Turkey). Catal was one of the world's oldest towns and peaceful around a Goddess deity. This
town lasted for over 1,500 years with no conflicts, Another early and peaceful society mentioned in Crete, as a goddess focused society, in the years archaeologists discovered in Minoan and Minoan societies burial chambers with drawings and figurines of the "Great Goddess" a moon deity whom protected women and giver of life and death, was surrounded by other women with holding the Labrys symbol. The Minoan palace of Knossos on Crete, excavated between 1900-1935, was a maze of passages and rooms decorated with the Labrys. This intricate maze originated the word:labyrinth. Paintings and frescoes at that time depict women grabbing bulls and their horns, to reflect their physical activities. These were not patriarchal societies of men dominating women.
The works in scrolls, etc. recovered and remained reflect those Greeks and other societies then had many same sex relationships and companions often included but would require Nolan deliberately overlooking or not mentioned deliberately fearing truth would make some hetero viewers uncomfortable, so change the characters interests, to reflect the Abrahamic faith mindsets, led by
the censoring christians..
History is at times Herstory and not the rewritings and coverups to not disturb the comfortable mindset bigots.
