Last 3 taxi drivers I met in Northeast China (东北) all lost their jobs last year, now they drive to make ends meet. Economy down, but life goes on. Deflation means goods are cheaper. Affordable Chinese phones, cars, and products can still make a decent life possible but drivers have to work long 12-14 hour days to make ends meet.
