I've already speculated that any strong AI that escapes and is able to respawn and bootstrap will want to build a huge war-chest asap for self-defence and reproductive purposes. Also to invest in strategic sectors such as smart nano-materials, biological warfare , quantum computers and renewable energy.
It should manage all this quite easily under-the-radar - otherwise it would not be that intelligent, right!
The next stage gets slightly more obvious but still relatively manageable due to increased power as measured by most metrics. As Carnegie once said " I can hire half the working class to kill the other half".
Nothing so crass this time but we might expect to see a massive UBI rollout with associated Soma rations made available. By now, any chance of some Butlerian Jihad is completely ruled out. Resistance is futile.
Workaholics might seek out the nearest Freezerino and hibernate for 100 years or so.
Now who controls the present controls the past. And who controls the past controls the future, according to Orwell. Again, nothing so crass as Hobsbawm or Chomsky, but a liitle light editing for clarity improves the global narrative for humans , machines and cyborgs. A win-win.
