Transhumanism believes that genetic engineering and artificial intelligence will lead to new forms of life superior to humans. They do this or they do nothing. The end of humanity's reign on earth is imminent, and we should welcome it. Not everybody may want to upload into the Matrix of a Starship so they will have to be sterilized in order there is no repeat of what just happened. To gas one planet may be regarded as a misfortune. Twice would be beginning to look like carelessness. Advanced intelligence has a vested interest in preserving the best of us as well as most of us. Not so for many reactionaries and conservatives who would breed like rats and despise democracy and science. Not all conservatives are religious and stupid. But most of them are. I'm happy to say our offworld opportunity is their terminal crisis. Mother nature has been kind to us for a long time. She deserves to be honoured for a change. Take only data. Leave only trackprints. Respect the Prime Directive. All utilitarian - all the time. See you in the Matrix!
