When modern Mussolinis meet its a chance to turn them rightside up

Rat professor writes

The Aztec empire was maximally concentrated on all three dimensions of governance they identify, making them powerful but susceptible to the decapitation and collapse which was to be their fate. This is contrasted with the more decentralized Tlaxcalteca and Olmec civilizations, whose leaders relied only on charisma for authority and which were therefore immune to decapitation.

Oxford, which got its start more than three centuries before the Aztec Triple Alliance and is still operating five centuries after its collapse, is structurally Olmec: a diffuse network of colleges, traditions, and informal practices with no single node to remove. And this is even more true for academia as whole, a massive but decentralized and interoperable institution.
