In the nineteenth century, a contemporary observer could not fail to note that machinery had an increasing significance in capitalist production, that the application of science was increasing, and that the individual worker played an ever smaller role.

Marx then immediately draws the following far-reaching conclusion: ‘Thus capital works to dissolve itself as the form which dominates production’.
In 1872 Marx went even further than CAPITAL and brayed that parliamentary cretinism would get American workers all they wanted!
