The publication of the UA Day 2026 Report marks another important milestone in the global effort to make the Internet more inclusive and multilingual through Universal Acceptance (UA). The report highlights how organizations across the world came together to move beyond awareness and toward practical implementation of UA.

UA is a technical requirement that ensures all valid domain names and email addresses – regardless of language, script, or character length – work consistently across Internet-enabled applications, devices, and systems. Achieving UA-readiness helps ensure that everyone can fully participate in digital life using their preferred language and script.

Organized by ICANN in collaboration with the community and global, regional, and local organizations, including the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO), the fourth annual UA Day demonstrated that it has become an important platform for building awareness, strengthening technical capacity, and encouraging organizations to make their systems UA-ready.

This year's report reflects the growing maturity of the initiative, emphasizing activities that encourage hands-on adoption and create lasting impact within local communities.
