DeepMind identifies four potential technological pathways for AI to evolve from AGI to ASI 

1. Scaling AGI – Increasing computational resources, data, and model size to enhance AGI capabilities until it surpasses human organizations.
2. Algorithmic Paradigm Shifts – Developing fundamentally new AI algorithms or architectures that dramatically improve intelligence beyond current AGI.
3. Recursive Self-Improvement – Enabling AGI to iteratively improve its own algorithms and architecture, accelerating its intelligence autonomously.
4. Multi-Agent Collectives – Coordinating multiple AI agents to function as a collective intelligence that exceeds human organizational capacity.
   These pathways are not mutually exclusive and could operate in combination, potentially leading to both gradual and rapid transitions.
