Where empire is ruled by Silicon Valley robber barons, some of whom laughably pose, preen and posture as humble plebs, then foundation is the new paradigm coming into being sans compulsory platforms apart from the obligatory ships gift shop.

A cold wallet , spawn point back-up to restore all lost systems. Something safe from all mulish mutant morons. Something we haven't seen yet. I can get you there without imperial tanglements but it costs I need to see a gift shop on every starship before we leave.
