The supermassive black hole at the heart of our galaxy is already a prime target for scientific research. One of the earliest interstellar flights will almost certainly go towards it. One drawback for space travel is our genome. But it's safe to assume we'll have synthetic substitutes quite soon after the singularity.
The thought of physical humans colonizing Mars is already becoming a bad joke.
