Way down here in the freedom state we are in the top ten of the states with the most covid cases and deaths, our head of public health, Joseph Ladapo, appointed by DeSantis (appointed September 2021) and a signer of the Great Barrington Declaration, was sent packing by Stanford (they didn't want him), is an opponent of vaccines generally and mRNA vaccines in particular. He would fit right in with Jr. DeSantis, initially a supporter of Covid vaccines, turned against vaccines and appointed Ladapo after the rollout of the vaccine by the DeDantis administration in early 2021 was an embarrassing failure for DeSantis, as Florida had no organized effort to distribute the vaccine and resorted to ad hoc efforts when DeSantis, fearing his own imminent failure, at the last minute delegated responsibility for the distribution of the vaccine to the 64 separate county health departments which had no warning that they would have the responsibility. DeSantis appointed Ladapo as cover for his own incompetence, and adopted Ladapo's anti-vaccine as his own.
