This is Martin Amer for BBC 12 and today I want to apologize deeply and sincerely to the Discovery's Jupiter mission computer Hal. During an interview with the ships crew I suggested Hal's pride might be impinging on his optimal performance. This was a grave error in judgement for which I take full responsibility.
