“Data center companies and AI companies have spent millions to prop up [Graham’s] campaign,” Andrews said in October. “We need a senator who will not sell out South Carolina to tech companies in California or in China.”
Some conservatives who have long been skeptical of Big Tech are now sounding the alarm for the party.
“Polling has long showed public opposition to data centers. That anger is fueled not just by the local impacts, but widespread concern that AI is coming for our kids, our families, and our jobs,” Daniel Cochrane, a senior fellow at the Institute for Family Studies, told POLITICO. “Rather than heed those concerns, some in the administration and GOP chose to align themselves with Big Tech and corporate plutocrats. The American people reject the alliance of Big AI and Big Government.”
Seen in places where Big Tech and crypto are supporting Republicans — specifically in the Ohio and South Carolina Senate races, where Democrats Sherrod Brown and Annie Andrews appear poised to pick up seats, respectively.
In Ohio, crypto megadonors spent at least $55 million opposing Brown — that’s well over the roughly $40 million they spent to successfully oust him from his Ohio Senate seat in 2024.
Suits and CEO bitches leave.
