No dreamer has ever dreamed
It's difficult not to get too carried away when describing the soundtrack album "Morning of the Earth". A sublime collection of songs that has enticed and haunted a generation of surfers and non surfers alike and continues to be played on high repeat on most surf trips around the world today. Probably one of the best "surf music" albums ever made, with excellent musicianship, great production values, and a strong narrative thread with no spoken words in the movie itself. To paraphrase Albe Falzon "the songs are the story and the dialogue for the film". This album is a brilliant combination of sweet folk and pop music that takes the listener on a rolling tour of emotions that fills them with a warm sense of purpose and belonging.
The film's soundtrack was produced by G. Wayne Thomas and included music and songs by noted Australian music acts Taman Shud, John J Francis, Brian Cadd and G. Wayne Thomas himself and one completely unknown musician Peter Howe. The popularity of the film was such that the album became the first Australian Gold soundtrack album. The music was a perfect backdrop for the great surfing action on the screen
