Vinay Gupta appears to support it from 1990 something to today.
And by extension Vitalik Buterin appears to side with Vinay more than Tim.
So by extension the Ethereum model appears more Singapore than Liberty City.
Appearance can deceive and I know you can't all be these Borglike things otherwise you would have assimilated me by now.
I say Tim was overly pessimistic and the dossier society future was decided by 2011. Since then that assessment has been justified by cryptoeconomics and strong AI with quantum cryptography and uploading waiting in the wings.
